Daulby & Tickle is a bespoke kitchen design and manufacturing company. We hand-build high-quality kitchens using both pre-manufactured and in-house components, with a strong focus on precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

We’re looking for a Cabinet Assembly & Workshop Technician to join our small team. We welcome both experienced workshop technicians and entry-level applicants with practical ability.

The Role

You’ll be involved in the full preparation and assembly of kitchen cabinets and bespoke components. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Load pre-cut boards into the CNC drilling machine and run programs (training provided).
• Opportunity to learn exporting/writing CNC programs in Maestro SCM as skills develop.
• Assemble kitchen carcasses (dowels, screws, hinges, drawer runners, fittings).
• Sanding and finishing veneered panels.
• Goods in/out, stock handling, workshop organisation.
• Occasional one-off or bespoke component making.
• Simple admin tasks (ordering parts, tracking materials).
• Forklift/material handling where required (training provided).

Ideal Candidate

We can train the right person, but ideally you will have:
✔ Practical/workshop experience (DIY, carpentry, joinery, furniture assembly).
✔ Confidence with hand tools and basic power tools.
✔ Good attention to detail and consistent quality.
✔ Physically capable of handling panels and workshop tasks.
✔ Reliable, organised, and able to work independently once trained.
✔ Experience with routers, table saws, or CNC machinery is a bonus (not essential).

Trainee / Entry-Level

£15.00 per hour
≈ £29,250 per year

Workshop Experience (1–3 years)

£16.50 – £18.50 per hour
≈ £32,175 – £36,075 per year

Skilled Technician / Cabinet Maker / CNC Competent

£19.50 – £22.00 per hour
≈ £38,025 – £42,900 per year

Overtime & Time in Lieu

Overtime is not expected and is generally avoided but may occasionally be required depending on workload.
• Overtime paid at standard hourly rate (not time-and-a-half).
• Weekend overtime is not standard but may be agreed if needed.
• Option for accrued time off in lieu where appropriate and pre-agreed.

• Holiday entitlement:

• Entry level: 20 days + bank holidays

• Skilled cabinet maker: 20 days + bank holidays (plus earn a extra day each year up to 5 additional days)

• Work on high-value, high-quality projects in a small workshop environment

Probation Period

• 3-month probation period
• Weekly check-in meetings during the first month
• Monthly appraisals for months 2 and 3
